Music has the Power to Synchronize our Heart Beats

I believe God made us so that our souls resonate with beauty. We were designed to live in a perfect environment, to appreciate at a visceral level amazing music, beautiful scenery, enjoy delicious food and to live in harmonious relationship. So no surprise, a scientific study demonstrates the same.

Classical Music has the power to adjust our body’s rhythms.

Last week Scientific Reports released a German study that monitored 132 audience members enjoying an evening of Classical Music while their bodies began to share the same internal and external movement with their fellow concert goers. The study demonstrated that over the course of the evening the music of Brahms, Beethoven and Brett Dean (61 year-old Australian whose first and last name is still required) created synchronicity in the audience’s hearts and lungs! Even skin sensitivity synchronized.

This study was conducted during pandemic so attendees were seated 6 feet apart in a darkened auditorium, so people were not taking cues from each other. Physiological responses were measured with data gloves, respiration belt and sensors. Overhead cameras measured people’s total body movement, as they moved in concert (see what I did there).

If you want to read the details of the study, you can find them here.
